AS TOURIST
As a tourist a Canadian can stay in Panama for a maximum of 180 days.
PERMANENT RESIDENCY
There are different ways to obtain a permanent residency:
- Friendly Nations to Panama as investors in real estate.
There are two important requirements to apply for this type of residency, the first one is to be in the list of Friendly Nations (Canada is), the second one is to apply with an investment in real with a minimum value of US$200,000.00. It could be financed by a bank, and it could be at the name of a Panama Corporation or Foundation.
Requirements:
- Power of attorney in our favor.
- 5 passport size photos (2 of them will be use for the registration process)
- A complete photocopy of your passport sealed by a Panamanian Notary
- A photocopy of your ID card, sealed by a Panamanian Notary
- Good Health Certificate from a Panama Doctor.
- Police Record. (if it is from the U.S.A. must be Federal Government), it should come with an apostille.
- Good Standing certificate of the property.

- Check to National Treasurer for the sum of US D$250.00-- client must provide the funds
- Check to the Immigration office for USD $800.00-- client must provide the funds.
- A bank reference letter (personal account), from a Panamanian bank for that show no less than USD $5,000.00.-- client must provide the letter. **

- Birth certificate with apostille.
