Originally a family home, it was converted to a successful 5-star bed and breakfast in 2009. With only four rooms, Coconut Lodge is designed as an intimate and private Panama Bed and Breakfast in a spectacular location, which has made it a popular vacation destination. Designed in a tropical manner with all-natural furniture (coconut and exotic woods), the rooms are equipped with everything you could possibly want and need: hair dryer, mini-bar, air conditioning and/or ventilation, plasma flat screen, and safe for your valuables. Two of the rooms are located on the ground floor of the main house, one has a garden view, while the fourth (Casa Bambú) is a separate casita that faces the lavish pool. This home was fully renovated in 2012. Now, 12 years later, the entire property is undergoing an extensive renovation to continue its reputation as the number BandB in Panama. It has a large open space living room and dining room, indoor and outdoor kitchens, huge laundry and storage room, maid's room, office or studio with view to the pool, and 10 bathrooms. A huge terrace overlooks the pool. A second terrace has views to the pool. Additional amenities include a new saltwater pool with Jacuzzi, and a beautiful BBQ area with cooking area. There is plenty of room to add a pickle ball court.
Coconut Lodge is located near Panama City, in a neighborhood known as Las Cumbres (The Summits). Situated in the lower end of a valley, near a large lake, and partly surrounded by a small tropical rainforest and creek, it is hard to believe that this calm and peaceful neighborhood is only 20 minutes away from downtown Panama City. Every day you and your guests can enjoy the beauty and tropics of Panama and all it has to offer including Tamarin monkeys, sloths, toucans, hummingbirds, and tropical vegetation, all in your back yard.
The property can be accessed from downtown via Transistmica, an avenue that traverses the country from the Pacific to the Atlantic Coast or via Corredor Norte (Exit Las Cumbres). The end of the line for the new Metro subway system is located only 1.5 km from the property. Coconut Lodge is conveniently situated for touring Panama. It is half an hour away to the world-famous Panama Canal, Monkey Island, Casco Antiguo, Amador Causeway, and city nightlife. Going the other direction, you can visit the Costa Arriba (Carribean Coast), Portobelo, Isla Grande, and San Blas.
